Amazon is “raising the bar” on education for a segment of the workforce that has been little recognized traditionally by employers. “Middle-skill” jobs- those that require education beyond what is taught in high schools but not a traditional, four-year college degree have had little training or educational opportunities by traditional employers.
Essentially, Amazon is changing the mentality that stagnation in training and education creates a stable workplace (worker’s have no other place to work) to a new perception, building a bigger, stronger workforce.
